Acrobat PDFMaker (for MS Office 2003 and earlier) uses the Adobe PDF printer, which in turn uses the Acrobat Distiller application, to convert Word documents. Therefore, the first step in troubleshooting is to determine if Acrobat Distiller is working correctly:

The Lexmark Universal Print Driver provide users and administrators with a standardized, one-driver solution for their printing needs. Instead of installing and managing individual drivers for each printer model, administrators can install the Lexmark Universal Print Driver for use with a variety of both mono and color laser printers and multi-function devices.
The latest version of the Universal Print Driver has the ability to update its user interface to reflect the features and options of any supported printer model. When the driver is connected to a printer through USB or over a network, the driver automatically updates its configuration, showing only the features and functions of a chosen printer model. For example, only the paper sizes, trays, paper types, finishing options, and other options that the printer supports are shown to the user.
Administrators can use the Printer Driver Configuration Utility to create driver configurations. A driver configuration is a group of saved printer driver settings and other options that is stored in a Driver Configuration File (DCF). You can also create subset driver configurations that work across different printer models. You can use the utility to:
Each package includes a Microsoft WHQL certified 32 and 64-bit PCL 5 emulation, PCL XL emulation, PS3 emulation and HBP universal printer driver. These driver packages will upgrade your existing installation of the universal printer driver.
The Mac UPD driver comes in 2 variants. The Color driver package is meant to work on color printers, whereas the Mono driver package will work on the mono printers. Each of the driver package comes in a DMG file format. These drivers will work for both ARM and Intel Architecture.

The free Adobe Reader never, repeat never, repeat yet again never provided the support to create PDF in any way whatsoever including the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver. That particular feature has only been available as part of Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Pro. The only other method by which this feature is installed is via an installation of Adobe FrameMaker which installs the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver in support of PDF creation.
I have purchased Adobe DC Pro and my adobe PDF printer has stopped working, too! It has worked for years with no problems and just STOPPED FOR NO APPARENT reason about a month or so ago. I want it back. I was never given a disk for it so these instructions are meaningless to me. I know how to install drivers and have been loading, installing, updating and repairing printers for 40 years now. Please address the problem and stop deflecting.
Assuming that the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance is not showing in the printers control panel, try the Help=>Repair Installation function in Acrobat. If it is showing, but not working, delete the printer, reboot, and then try the Help=>Repair Installation function in Acrobat.
What was that called please? I have followed Acrobat history keenly since 1.0. I remember a free PostScript printer driver. I remember PDFwriter, a non-Postscript printer driver included in Acrobat Exchange 1.0, 2.0 and 2.1, removed after Acrobat 5.0, but it was never free to my knowledge. PageMaker and Distiller bundled Distiller.
In the free version, the EXE installer works fine for personal use. PDFCreator professional lets you download a separate MSI installer. You can deploy this package in the active directory to create a shared printer for the entire network.

The print driver always indicates the correct size of my intended output (11x17 in this case). It's publisher that "resets" back to 8.5x11 after attempting to print 11x17. And even after printing, the print driver still indicates 11x17.Early this morning, I tested this by uninstalling Office 2003 and reinstalling Publisher 2002. It printed correctly. I then uninstalled Pub02 and resintalled Office 2003 and, as expected, it printed incorrectly. Thus, process of elimination indicates the issue is with Pub03 and not the print driver or my setup.
1 - File, Page Setup2 - On Printer and Paper tab, change printer to Epson 1280 and select US B 11x17 under paper. Then I click OK to exit.3 - Return to Page Setup except go to Layout tab. At this point, Custom is select and the size still indicates 8.5x11. I click on "full page" and the size becomes greyed out but changes to 11x17. I then click OK to exit.4 - Return to Page setup to verify 11x17. They both indicate 11x17.5 - Verify main page size has changed to 11x17. According the rulers displayed, my new page size is 11x17.6 - Pre-Printing. Before the actual print, I verify the print driver has approrpriate settings. It does. It indicates (in the various property windows) that I am about to print on 11x17 paper.7 - When I print, the output is cropped to an area of 8.5x11. I return to the Page Setup only to find that the settings have returned to 8.5x11.The only way I can properly print an 11x17 document in Pub03 is by selecting the reduce/enlarge option in my print driver.I'm really at a loss how the file created in Pub02 printed correctly yet does not do so in Pub03. And it does this consistently on new files that are 11x17.I'd also reject the idea of it being a printer driver (setup) issue as just this morning I went through the process reintstalling Pub02 (clean install after removing Office 03) where it printed correctly.
I should add that I tested this earlier today on another machine, using the same printer, and got identical results. I find it odd that this would be a printer issue. I've been using Publisher since Pub97 and have never had problems printing on different sized media. The machine I'm using is only 2 months old and the only change was upgrading to Office 03.Given that I can uninstall Office 03 and reinstall Pub02 resulting in correct output, simple deductive reasoning would indicate that the problem is not with the printer driver or its setup.
